Description
For families with children ages 0 to 14. In the show mine you experience an original adit from 1567 and take part in a guided mine tour (approx. 1 hour). 🪨
The mining museum displays historic mining equipment and a large, hands-on collection of miner's lamps – ideal for children who like tools and technology.
The mineral exhibit presents over 200 minerals and regional specialties like Löllingit. When you take part, you can search for quartz, malachite, calcite, pyrite, chalcedony, celestine and amethyst yourself on the Albert-Halde. The annual minerals fair on the first July weekend is a popular highlight.
In the puppet museum, handcrafted dolls by Helga Riedel depict local festivals and stories – for example the Reiftanz and scenes from the tales of Dolores Viesèr, which make regional customs tangible for children.
