Description
Schleipfuhl is a glacial water body without inflow or outflow located in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district of Berlin, on the border between the Kaulsdorf and Hellersdorf neighborhoods. The still water and the nearby field pond form the heart of a roughly five-hectare nature reserve. A nature conservation center opened in 1996 in an eco-friendly building shows visitors fish, insects, and plants in artificially created habitats. The main goal of the center’s staff is environmental education for children and youth.
