Schwimmhalle Finckensteinallee
Description
The Schwimmhalle Finckensteinallee impresses with a large 50 x 25 meter sports pool, popular especially with sporty swimmers. The water is about 2 meters deep everywhere, with no non-swimmer zone – entry is via ladders.
Admission is free for children under 5 when accompanied by an adult. During the week, schools and clubs use the pool, but early morning swimming and Sundays offer unrestricted access for all visitors.
The building itself is an architectural highlight and historically significant – opened in 1937/38 as the largest indoor pool in Europe. The barrier-free facilities include accessible showers, toilets, changing rooms, a water lift, water wheelchair, tactile guidance systems, ramps, and disabled parking spaces.
Especially exciting are the aqua fitness classes (no registration needed) on Mondays and Fridays, where a variety of offerings await you – from Aqua Vital to Aqua to the Limit.
