Fascinating adventures, action, and excitement make for a fantastic vacation day at Serengeti Park Hodenhagen for the whole family. The special feature: You can drive through Serengeti Park with your own car.

By the way, you can also stay overnight in the park: Book an overnight stay at Serengeti Park

Your safari starts here! It's a classic to drive through Serengeti Park in your own car and observe the animals without fences. Or you can book a bus tour and listen to the drivers' humorous commentary.

If you thought there were only animals in Serengeti Park, think again. High-speed speedboat tours, a white-water ride, roller coasters, and dinosaurs complete the fantastic offerings for your day in this safari park. And if you’re looking for a truly special experience: overnight stays are also possible here.

Serengeti Park Serengeti Park is located in the south of the Lüneburg Heath in Hodenhagen along the A7.

You can expect over 1,500 free-roaming animals, more than 40 rides, and thrilling shows on your safari through Serengeti Park. A particular highlight is always the drive through the lion enclosure. There are no fences here.

Serengeti Park is committed to species conservation and breeding of endangered animals. It is not a zoo – the animals roam freely in the various enclosures and you can get up close to them.

Serengeti Park also includes an amusement park with many rides, a white-water ride, roller coasters, and speedboat rides. It’s pure adrenaline.

The park is divided into 3 sections:

Serengeti Safari - the animal park Explore the Serengeti Safari in your own car (at your own risk – convertibles and cars with folding roofs are not allowed for safety reasons!) or with the popular Serengeti bus. The route is 10 km long. You may only get out at designated points.

On the Serengeti Safari, watch 1,500 free-roaming exotic animals up close, such as lions, tigers, giraffes, bison, rhinoceroses, camels, zebras, antelopes, gnus, Watussis, and many more. For children, it’s a unique experience when a giraffe sticks its head through the bus door or a rhinoceros charges up.

Besides the classic bus tour, there is also the new "Safari Express," a train that runs through the park.

Serengeti Interactive (with APP) "Serengeti Interactive" is a unique innovation worldwide that revolutionizes visiting the animal park. At Serengeti Park, you no longer just watch animals – with "Serengeti Interactive," you become part of the Serengeti! At various points within the Serengeti Safari, there are interactive trees where you can brush, feed, or water animals. These functions can be activated via your smartphone. Just download the Serengeti Park app and you’re ready to go! The special twist: Even when the park is closed, you can still peek into the animal world, because "Serengeti Interactive" can be controlled from home via the app!

Up close with animals in the petting safari On a 1.2-hectare petting meadow, children can get very close to and even pet alpacas, donkeys, and goats. The petting meadow is located on the edge of Serengeti Park and is easily reachable on foot.

Jungle Safari Walk through the jungle in Serengeti Park: Over 200 monkeys live on a new island area – here there is no fence separating you from the animals! The new monkey island covers 15 hectares. There are no cages; you move freely on the island. Of course, the monkeys are very curious, so leave glasses and phones outside beforehand.

Adventure Safari – the amusement park More than 40 rides at Serengeti Park’s amusement park: rides and shows for all ages, such as Gantu Top Spin, Victoria Freefall, Mokora white-water ride, Africa Express, Putu Moto Ferris wheel with rides for children from 3 years old, Ngoko ship swing, Jambo baby fun for children aged 2 to 4, playgrounds, and a new 1,000 m² indoor safari for an adventurous afternoon – even in bad weather! The highlight of the Adventure Safari is the Black Mamba River – an adventurous jetboat ride with thrilling speeds and sharp turns – and the quad safari, which climbs steeply uphill. The offer is rounded off by breathtaking shows like "Kumeka – The Awakening of the Jungle" with acrobatics, music, and magic, the Okavango water show, and the new Jambo Bongo interactive show!

Black Mamba Jetboats This park is the only amusement park in Germany where you can drive jetboats. On the "Black Mamba" jetboats, you can prove your courage as you make a breathtakingly fast escape from the danger of the black mamba lurking on the riverbank! But beware: you might get wet… the extremely agile, water-jet-powered jetboats reach high speeds and fast 360-degree turns.

Aqua Safari, unique in Europe It takes you on a one-of-a-kind tour in Europe on an original Florida airboat.

On this exciting trip through an adventurous river landscape, you land right in the paws of King Kong! But don’t worry: your speedboat goes really fast on the water – maybe you’ll just manage to escape King Kong!

Indoor Safari – fun regardless of weather Whether it rains or storms outside – in the new indoor safari hall, more than 400 young adventurers can jump, climb, and slide over more than 1,000 square meters. Numerous climbing and gymnastics opportunities, tube slides, a triple slide, six trampolines, and a large soccer field invite you to play. The little explorers can also go on a wild discovery tour and learn exciting facts about the animal world.

Jurassic Safari Since 2018, Serengeti Park guests can follow in the footsteps of giants from times long past and meet Triceratops, Stegosaurus, T-Rex and company in person. A separate area is set aside exclusively for dinosaurs that move and make sounds when you walk past them.

The dinosaurs at Serengeti Park

The dinos are especially popular with the little ones. You walk past large and small dinosaurs that suddenly start to move and make noises. It's fun to trigger the motion sensors again. Suddenly you’re face to face with a Triceratops. And at the end, of course, the highlight: the T-Rex.

Tips

Unique impressions and experiences are worth capturing—so don’t forget to bring a good camera. You will get very close to the animals.

Serengeti Park top tip For bus tours, the best seats are downstairs, about two rows behind the front door, if you want to see, for example, giraffes sticking their heads in. Otherwise, the upper seats are good for small children since they offer a good overview.

Feeding the animals is strictly forbidden as it harms their health. The animals also don’t like chocolate bars or gummy bears.

Animals have the right of way. Allow plenty of time—the 10 km route by your own car can take up to 1.5 hours. A few drinks in the car don’t hurt either.
