Spielplatz Palmengarten

The playground, which has been around for 70 years, was completely renovated in 2022 and offers a wide range of activities for movement and relaxation for people of all ages. During the redesign, the historic play equipment was restored and preserved as a historical record of playground equipment from the DDR era. The playground is divided into two areas: a toddler section with the iconic elephant slide and a play area for school children up to 10 years old. There, children can climb on the historic steel globe as well as a new airplane built in the same style.

On the approximately 850 square meter playground, there is barrier-free access to the semicircular “stage” at the southern end. There is also a bench for seniors, seating walls at the sand playground, and seating beams in the play area that invite you to linger. Additionally, many nearby trees provide shade on sunny summer days.
