Description

Steinzeitspielplatz offers a unique way to explore the theme of "Stone Age and Neanderthals" through play. The design of the playground incorporates archaeological finds like thrusting spears and throwing spears, interpreted in a creative way. For younger children, there is a watercourse with a mud area, a climbing structure made of "driftwood," and a stone slide. The impressive "Thrust Spear Tower," reaching up to eight meters high, is a distinctive feature of the playground. At its center, nets stretch across four levels, making the climb an exciting challenge. Descending through a tube slide rewards the children's bravery. The playground also includes a "Throwing Spear Forest" as a hanging structure, a climbing rock, a double swing, and a exchange swing, all designed with a prehistoric look. Located at the restored confluence of the Düssel and Mettmanner Brook, and close to the Ice Age wildlife enclosure and the Neanderthal Museum, it is an attractive destination for families.
