Thüringer Zoopark Erfurt
Description
The Thüringer Zoopark Erfurt is the third largest scientifically managed zoo in Germany, housing over 1,000 animals from 158 species across nearly 63 hectares.
Many enclosures are designed to be naturalistic and some you can even enter to get up close to animals from around the world. Especially exciting are the regularly held commented feedings, where you can ask the keepers questions.
The daily feeding times include cheetahs, zebra mongooses, lemurs, bisons, lions, meerkats, and African wild dogs – lots to discover!
The Madagascar Discovery Day offers fun activities for kids: crafting, face painting, and a prize wheel entertain, while informative talks reveal more about Madagascar’s wildlife.
The newly designed playground featuring a wobbly panda swing and a balancing course next to the lemur and red panda enclosures makes a zoo visit active and varied for children.
A highlight for families is the big Halloween party, where the zoo transforms into a spooky Halloween paradise.
If you like, you can also become an animal sponsor – choose from over 100 species to support the zoo or give a special gift. Sponsorships last at least one year.
