Tier- und Erlebnispark Lützen

Description
In 1962, the animal enclosure was established by the city of Lützen and opened to the public on March 31. Adjacent to the animal enclosure is the wooded park area known as Martzschpark, created from the endowment of citizen Karl-Louis Martzsch. The current animal enclosure grounds are not part of this area. Nevertheless, the two sections together cover a total of 13 hectares, blending harmoniously and serving as a relaxing retreat for visitors. The Martzschpark and parts of the animal enclosure are officially classified as protected forest areas.
Our club-run Tier- und Erlebnispark Lützen boasts many attractions. The enclosures mostly house native wild animals such as red deer, wild boars, foxes, and raccoons, as well as numerous domestic animals like goats, sheep, and miniature pigs. A special highlight is our petting enclosure, which gives you direct contact with the animals.
Currently, the little visitors can enjoy two playgrounds. In summer 2020, an adventure play barn with a play tower will be constructed, which—like the themed water playground—is partly funded by EU grants.
For food and drink, the Erlebnispark e. V. offers a Troll Tavern that invites you to enjoy small snacks, delicious ice cream, frozen treats, and homemade cakes. A special attraction opening in spring 2020 is the "Hollehaus" bakery. There, you can buy freshly baked bread from the wood-fired oven and enjoy simple, good hearty fare.
Another experience will be the teaching bakery where you can even prepare your own bread. This project is also partly funded by EU grants.
From April to October, you can get active with pony rides and at the privately operated climbing forest.
