Description

The exhibition Traktoren und Tradition at the DDR-Museum Vogtland in Süßebach offers you fascinating insights into the agricultural technologies and traditions of the GDR and the Comecon countries from 1945 to 1989. Here you can admire beautifully restored vintage tractors and discuss vehicle restoration with experts—a thrilling chance to get hands-on yourself.

In addition to the tractors, small historical everyday items from the GDR era enhance the experience: antique irons, hand tools, hair clippers, typewriters, shopping bags, mopeds, and motorcycles invite you to explore. The exhibition shows how these tractors were integrated into agricultural life on more than 4 million hectares of farmland.

Special exhibitions with family-friendly visiting hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on selected days in 2026 provide varied experiences. Admission is free for children up to 12 years old—a fantastic offer for the whole family! 🚜
