Description

The Trockenstrand first opened at the end of August 2000 on the dike in Upleward. This recreational, play, and sports facility, which the media cheekily called an 'East Frisian joke' in 1999, offers a sandy beach right behind the dike. The Trockenstrand covers an area of 9,000 square meters. Children can romp and have fun on various play equipment at the Trockenstrand.

Next to the Trockenstrand, there is a kiosk with automatic service. The kiosk is also the starting point for the mudflat hikes from the National Park House Greetsiel.

After a complete renovation in 2020, many new attractions have been added, including a pirate ship, water play areas, a new stage, various seating and lounging areas, as well as volleyball and beach soccer fields.

In addition to the new play equipment, a wooden boardwalk has been built, which is wheelchair accessible.
