Description
Tropenaquarium Hagenbeck takes you on a journey through dense equatorial rainforest across more than 8,000 square meters, inviting you to experience over 350 exotic animal species up close.
You can discover free-roaming lemurs, flying African birds, and some of the world’s most dangerous animals such as Nile crocodiles and venomous snakes.
A highlight is the Great Shark Atoll, featuring one of Europe’s largest saltwater tanks: through a 14-meter-long and 6-meter-high panoramic glass panel, you get an up-close view of sharks and rays 🦈.
The aquarium houses a total of 19 saltwater and 10 freshwater tanks holding over two million liters of water, home to around 13,000 fish.
The natural habitats are designed without bars or cages; instead, moats, water, and rocks separate the animal areas – so you dive right into the diverse living worlds of lizards, amphibians, insects, arachnids, bats, and lemurs.
