Description

At the Tuchmacher Museum Bramsche, you can experience how wool blankets are made on machines that are over 100 years old in a historic cloth factory. The fascinating history of wool processing and the Bramsche cloth-making families is also shared.

For those who want to get creative, there is a workshop where colorful cushions are woven using a simple weaving technique on a nail board – unique designs are created from a selection of felted wool.

The museum regularly hosts knitting meet-ups where you can knit simple scarves or even complex socks together and exchange ideas about your hobby. There are also workshops where you learn how to spin wool by hand using a spindle or spinning wheel – various dates are available.

For children and families, there is the workshop “Sewing Workshop: Making New from Old”. There you learn how to operate a sewing machine and create your own pieces.

Children's birthday parties here become a special experience: you can have lots of fun and at the same time learn a lot about cloth making. In addition, the museum offers exciting programs for kindergartens and schools of all levels revolving around cloth making.
