Description

A 400-meter circular trail leads through a vast forest and offers direct contact with the normally wild birds. You can observe the birds up close! Children can feed the ducks and find free-roaming rabbits, peacocks, chickens, and the funny running ducks everywhere – fascinating! And if you're lucky, you might even see and hear a talking raven. But even if it doesn’t feel like chatting, a visit is definitely worth it, and your kids will thank you.

The Vogelstation is open daily from April to October, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The Vogelstation is not a commercial business but primarily a rescue station for sick, native birds.

Getting there

From Osterode, head toward the Sösetalsperre (B498). Parking is available at the "Schwarze Brücke" lot. From there, it’s about a 500-meter walk to the forest bird station.
