Description

Start/Finish: Kerpen town center or Niederehe town center

Length: approx. 11 km

Marking: logo with directional arrows

Hiking time: 3 hours

Intermediate destination: Wasserfall Dreimühlen

Tip:

The former Augustinian nunnery in Niederehe was built between 1162 and 1175. It was dissolved in 1803. Particularly worth seeing is the old monastery church, whose oldest parts date back to the 12th century. Inside the church is a choir stall from 1530 and valuable sculptures from the 17th century, including the high tomb of Philip von der Mark and his wife Katharina. Newly renovated: The Balthasar-König organ from 1715. Guided tours available upon request, open all day.
