Wasserschloss Tatenhausen
Description
The Wasserschloss Tatenhausen is a picturesque moated castle with a wide castle lake – ideal for exploring and strolling with children 🏰
The complex features striking historic architecture: original Weser-Renaissance from 1540 with Baroque additions – gables and the stair tower are visible. The baroque orangery (designed by Johann Conrad Schlaun, 1751) is a photogenic highlight, but it is not open to the public. For older children there is a literary connection: Friedrich Leopold zu Stolberg-Stolberg lived here 1812–1816 📚.
Guided tours by appointment take you across the courtyards and into the castle chapel – a family-friendly way for you to discover history together.
