Description
The WIENXTRA-Institut für Freizeitpädagogik is a location of WIENXTRA, the children's and youth program of the City of Vienna. Here, the offerings focus on learning and counseling, and everything takes place indoors.
One example is the First Aid Course, which is aimed at people working in children's and youth work. It covers 16 hours spread over two days and teaches emergency knowledge for handling children and young people in emergency situations. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate from the Arbeiter-Samariterbund. The goal is to stay calm in tense situations and act correctly.
WIENXTRA is Vienna's children's and youth agency, working with the City of Vienna. Several venues run under its name, each with its own programme for children, teenagers and families – from children's cinema and games afternoons to media workshops and advice.
Quick facts:
- Venues: Kinderinfo, Jugendinfo, Cinemagic, Spielebox, Medienzentrum, Stadtbox, Institute for Leisure Education
- For children, teens and young adults up to 25
- Many offers are free, or cheaper with the Kinderaktivcard
- Venues across Vienna
