Wildpark Frankenberg (Eder)

Description
Opposite the historic old town of Frankenberg is the city wildlife park. Here you can find mountain goats as well as wild boar, red deer, fallow deer, sika deer, and mouflon. Except for the fenced-in wild boar and mountain goats, the animals roam freely without disturbing fences. The well-known Ederhöhenpfad trail runs partly through the park and allows you to observe animals up close. You can also enter the wildlife park via the premium city hiking trail Frankenberger Blickwinkel. A special experience for both young and old is the walk right among the free-roaming animals, and a playground welcomes you for a break. The animals are so tame that they let children pet them.
The annual highlights you definitely should not miss are:
in spring, the birth of the mouflon lambs
in June, the birth of calves of fallow and red deer
the traditional wildlife park festival in early September
in September, the red deer rut
in October, the fallow deer rut
Christmas tree event in December
The city wildlife park is open year-round and daily with free admission.
Note:
Dogs are not allowed inside the wildlife park!
