Winterquartier Zirkus Charles Knie

Description
Winterquartier Zirkus Charles Knie is based in the Einbeck district of Volksen, which also serves as its winter quarters. The half-timbered house on an old estate from 1870 now functions as the office for the circus operations. Next to the house on the large premises in Volksen, there are stables, pastures, a large courtyard, and vehicle halls. However, these areas are not open to the public except during events.
Various exciting large events take place at the winter quarters, such as the annual open house day, Circus Land with its summer variety show, or the Winter Wonderland (planned for winter 2020 but canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
In the summer, you can enjoy Charles Knie's Circus Land. Here you can choose from various attractions, the animal park, thrilling shows, and diverse dining options to spend your summer day. Learn more about Circus Land here and plan your visit!
The circus was founded in 1995 by Dorina and Charles Knie, the latter coming from the Circus Knie dynasty established in Austria in 1806. In its early days, the circus gained fame for its magical acts and exciting animal performances. In 2006, Charles Knie sold the circus to wholesale and foreign trade merchant Sascha Melnjak. Since then, the former provincial circus has developed into one of Europe's most popular big circuses. Each year, with almost 100 employees, over 100 animals, and more than 200 vehicles, it tours about 50 cities in Germany.
