Wisentgehege Springe

Description
Wisentgehege Springe is located south of Hanover and makes for a worthwhile family day trip.
Here visitors can observe animals in their natural habitat across an area of over 90 hectares. Today, this animal park is home to and breeds 100 European animal species, including Przewalski’s horse, moose, beaver, lynx, brown bear, wolf, as well as many ducks, geese, and birds of prey.
Originally, Wisentgehege was founded in 1928 to save the European bison from extinction. To date, with 350 animals born in the park, it has made a significant contribution to preserving this species. In the 1950s, the enclosure evolved further into an animal park.
