Zoo am Meer Bremerhaven

Love at first sight! Zoo am Meer Bremerhaven touches your heart, not only with its animal residents but also thanks to its unique location right by the dike. Experience the North Sea vibe combined with emotional animal encounters. Thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass panels, visitors are "up close and personal," facing the animals eye to eye.

Right at the start of your journey into the animal kingdom, the chimpanzee group welcomes you. Step by step, you explore different habitats, like those of polar bears, seals, or penguins. The otter family bustles energetically through their enclosure, while the pumas stretch out calmly on their spots by the glass. The polar bear twins Anna & Elsa, born in December 2019, have become the zoo's favorites, keeping their mother Valeska quite busy. Playing wildly on land and in the water, they excite visitors both young and old.

The North Sea Aquarium offers a glimpse into the nearby sea. Alongside many special animals like seahorses and sea hares, the large wolffish impresses, as does Otto the octopus with his colorful displays. It’s a place to linger and watch.
