Zwischen Himmel und Erde - Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner und die Welt der 8000er

In the 400 m² immersive exhibition, Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner is at the center – the first woman to climb all 14 eight-thousanders without oxygen. In experience rooms you can feel extreme altitude, steep faces and the force of the wind; the museum shows original footage of the 2015 avalanche at Everest Base Camp. Outside there is a K2-inspired climbing tower – currently closed for safety reasons. An 8000er hiking route starts at the museum and is suitable as an active family extension. For children there is the museum quiz «Mit Wissen zum Gipfel», audio guides are available in German, English, Czech and Dutch. Wheelchair accessible with step-free entrance and minimum 80 cm door width; suitable for children and adolescents up to 15 years. 🏔️
