Altenkirchener Weekly Market

Description
Every Thursday (except public holidays) from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a variety of vendors offer their goods at the marketplace and along the Altenkirchen pedestrian zone. You will usually find fresh products such as fish, cheese, fruit, vegetables, bread, eggs, meat, and potatoes, as well as honey products directly from the producer, pickled specialties, flowers, and textiles.
Depending on the season and weather, the selection changes, and the weekly market is always a place to meet, share news, and see friends.
The multi-generational house "Mittendrin" at Wilhelmstr. 10 also invites you to their "Market Breakfast," open from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
You can also visit the public library of the Evangelical parish of Altenkirchen on market day (open Thursdays from 9 AM to 7 PM, with different hours during school holidays – see www.buecherei-ak.de).
Additionally, the Historical Quarter at Marktstraße 31/33 is open every Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM, showcasing changing art exhibitions and historic objects. Stop by and dive into the history of Altenkirchen.
There may also be the "Music at Market Time" at the Evangelical Church on Schlossplatz. Around 11 AM, musicians often gather here to offer a small musical break on the organ or other instruments.
Before you head home, you can enjoy great food from the local eateries. Many also offer special lunch menus on this day.
