Boundless Culture

From September 24 to October 4, 2026, the 28th edition of the inclusive and international theater festival Boundless Culture will take place at the Staatstheater Mainz. Under the title "Crazy Years," the festival offers its own perspective on the cultural summer motto "The Roaring Twenties." The program explores the social upheavals of that era alongside the lived realities of people with disabilities.

The productions address questions such as whether humor can be a response to attempts to profit from disability. Other plays combine easy-to-understand language or German Sign Language with contemporary drama. The perspective of people with disabilities as an inspiration for the non-disabled environment is also a theme. The program is completed by street theater, readings, and parties.

The festival is organized by Lebenshilfe Kunst und Kultur gGmbH and the Staatstheater Mainz. It is supported by Aktion Mensch and the Rheinland-Pfalz Cultural Summer.
