Children's & Youth Theater Festival - The Snow Woman - performed by Sybille Denker

Description
Freely adapted from Hans Christian Andersen
The Snow Woman enjoys her life under the cold full moon. Even the blazing sun can't harm her – ha! because it's bitterly cold. The old farm dog warns her of an approaching change in weather. He tells how, in the past, he was allowed to sleep inside the cozy warmth of a stove, but then he was thrown out. This makes the Snow Woman really long for a stove. The next morning the weather changes. Her longing for a stove has grown huge, and just now the Snow Woman is in danger of melting. She tries everything to stop it – ha! she drinks iced tea... lots of iced tea... A snowy story about having the courage to be stubborn. About a Snow Woman who’s starting to thaw!

The Children's and Youth Theater Festival
Since 2003, the Children’s and Youth Theater Festival has been held in our region. At first, only in Bühlertal and Ottersweier, it is now hosted by six communities – Bühlertal, Kappelrodeck, Lauf, Ottersweier, Sasbachwalden and Sasbach. The festival has become an established cultural highlight in our region and takes place every two years. The basic idea of the festival is to familiarize children and young people in our region with various forms of theater and to give them the opportunity to engage with the themes of the plays away from smartphones, tablets, TV, and the internet. In some performances, the audience has been directly involved in the action and often discussions with the actors are possible afterward.
