Our Christmas market is much more than "mulled wine and fries." Alongside the main attractions like the Ferris wheel, Christmas pyramid, and ice skating rink, it’s the many small special things that make the Meppen Christmas market so unique.

Many lovingly decorated huts filled with Christmas merchandise invite you to browse and discover. If you’re looking for a gift or a souvenir, you’ll definitely find something here. Visitors can expect a focus on stalls with seasonal goods, with mulled wine and waffles certainly not missing.

that the Meppen Christmas market was voted the third most beautiful Christmas market in Germany in 2019? (Audience choice in the “Best Christmas City” competition for cities with 20,000 – 100,000 inhabitants) Meppen’s alleys of lights: Even before entering the Christmas market, Meppen shines with festive lights. Countless Christmas lights create a very special atmosphere. Once inside the market, the illuminated alleys are a real highlight. At three chosen spots, the pedestrian zone is covered by canopies of thousands of twinkling lights.

Monday - Thursday: 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

During holidays: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Saturday: 10:00 am - 9:00 pm

Sunday: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

Exception: The ice rink is closed on December 10

⛸ December 23, 2026: 10:00 am - 8:00 pm

⛸ Christmas Eve: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

⛸ Second Christmas Day: 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

On Christmas Eve, only the ice rink is open. The Christmas market is closed on Christmas Day.

On the second Christmas day, the food stalls 🍟🌭 and the ice rink are open from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
