Freital Castle Advent

The Freital Castle Advent invites you to enjoy a festive break away from the Christmas bustle in the idyllic setting of Burgk Castle. The mood-lit courtyard and gardens create a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger.

In numerous festive wooden stalls you will find culinary delights like mulled wine, waffles, sugar rolls, gingerbread, almonds, burgers, bratwurst, langos, as well as vegan and vegetarian dishes.

There are free activities for children, including a small train called the “Orient Express,” knightly games with archery, crossbow shooting, and a knighting ceremony. In a knight’s hideaway tent, little crafting activities can be discovered.

• Be captivated by demonstrations at the forge in the castle courtyard.

• Every day from 2:00 p.m., Santa Claus, stilt walkers in fascinating costumes, and a snowman provide little surprises.

• The traditional Christmas exhibition of the Freital Municipal Collections opens its doors for wonder on the first Advent weekend.

The Castle Advent combines Christmas shopping, cultural programs, and social gatherings into a wintry experience in a fairytale setting.
