Description

During the Christmas season, Wöhrsee transforms into a beautifully illuminated natural setting. Over 350 "Liachterl" in charming wooden lanterns, scattered around the lake, create a cozy atmosphere at the foot of the world’s longest castle. The Liachterlweg begins on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at 4:30 PM. On a peaceful walk around the lake, you can enjoy the unique ambiance and discover the Christmas-themed stations waiting for you along the way.

The winter walk around Wöhrsee concludes on the meadow of the Wöhrsee bath, where you can treat yourself to warm drinks and small delicacies.

Already on Friday, November 27, 2026, the Liachterl will be lit from 4:30 PM. Even without the stations and refreshments, you can enjoy the enchanting path around Wöhrsee.

Parking and shuttle: For a relaxing visit, we recommend parking at the exhibition hall. The free city bus will take you on Saturday at the usual times every 30 minutes to the old town for the Liachterlweg and the Advent in the Grüben. The last departure from Stadtplatz on Friday and Saturday is at 10:58 PM. On Fridays, the bus runs every 30 minutes at normal ticket prices.
