Description

The Lößnitzer Christmas Market, a cherished tradition since 1691, radiates a special festive spirit every year on the third weekend of Advent. The historic marketplace and downtown transform into a magical sea of lights, accompanied by traditional sounds and tempting aromas. The market officially opens Friday evening with a charming star parade featuring local daycare centers and a prologue by the Angel and Miner figures.

A standout highlight is the grand Miners' Parade on Sunday. Around 450 miners march through the town in splendid uniforms, while the spectacle is broadcast live on a 21 m² LED screen, giving all visitors an unforgettable view. The market is further enriched by the melodies of the Lößnitzer bronze bell chimes.

In addition to the musical variety, featuring regional choirs, brass bands, and local dialect groups, exhibitions like the model train display at "Putzwolle" and the lovingly arranged carving exhibition at the brewery, showcasing local and Christmas mountain themes, invite discovery.
