Magical Christmas Joys
Description
Magical Christmas joys in Oberharmersbach: Experience "Pettersson and Findus" on a lovingly designed circular trail, the Christmas village and Hademar's Advent village from November 28, 2026, to January 6, 2027.
The "Magical Christmas Joys" are an integral part of the (pre-)Christmas season in Oberharmersbach and take place every year from the first Advent weekend until Epiphany.
Circular trail "Fairy tales through the Christmas season"
For 12 years now, Oberharmersbach has been hosting a "Fairy tale through the Christmas season".
From November 28, 2026, to January 6, 2027, young and old alike will experience on a roughly 2 km long circular trail, at lovingly created stations made of wood and natural materials, the story "Pettersson and Findus – Pettersson gets a Christmas visit" by Sven Nordquist (published by Oetinger Verlag).
The trail begins in front of the Tourist Info and is free of charge. Parking is available in front of the Tourist Info (Dorf 60), at Kilwiplatz (Waldhäuser), or at Bahnhof-Dorf (Wiesenrain). The trail should only be walked in one direction (from Tourist Info towards Jedensbachhof). The first part of the route is illuminated with Christmas lights every evening between 4 and 8 p.m. Tip: still bring a flashlight.
And here is what happens:
For days, it is so cold that old Pettersson and his cat Findus don’t even want to stick their noses outside, and just as it gets a little warmer, the old man twists his foot. Tomorrow is Christmas Eve. How are they supposed to get a Christmas tree? And stockfish, meatballs, and gingerbread? What a nice present!
And after that...
After this story, the path continues from Jedensbachhof toward the town entrance. From here you go past Hademar's "Pinch-me puzzle stations" back into the town center. Next to the large Christmas tree right in front of the town hall, the Christmas village on the town hall square with a Christmas post office and food stalls awaits many visitors.
Finally, a visit to the "Hademar Advent village" in the spa park is worthwhile before returning to the Tourist Information.
Hademar Advent village
Throughout Advent until Epiphany, a visit to the "Hademar Advent Village" in the spa park of Oberharmersbach is worth it.
Hademar the forest elf usually lives on the nature adventure trail in Oberharmersbach. In winter, however, he moves every year to his "Hademar Advent village" in the spa park opposite the parish center. Here, he feels more at home during Christmas time – cozily embedded in the town center.
Every day from December 1 to 24, Hademar shows visitors another little part of his village. This keeps it exciting and makes multiple visits worthwhile.
Since 2023, Hademar’s marble runs have also been here, providing even more fun and fresh air activity. In the anniversary year 2024, celebrating 10 years of "Fairy tales through the Christmas season," a large memory game was added, where you can have fun together and reminisce.
The Advent village remains visible to all little and big visitors until January 6, before Hademar and his friends return to the nature adventure trail.
