Nikolausumzug

On the eve of the feast day of Saint Nicholas, the Kolping family organizes the Nikolaus procession. This event takes place in only a few locations. Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors, is carried through our town on a boat prepared by some former members of the sailors' association. The procession starts at 6:00 PM at the turnaround and follows Koblenzer Street, Rathaus Street, and Liebfrauen Street to the Liebfrauen Church, where Saint Nicholas will speak to the children. After the Nikolaus procession, gingerbread men are handed out to the children.
