Description

On Sunday, October 4, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, the annual Selzen Kite Flying Day will take place.

The event unfolds in the open area around the Pustelnik family's hall near the Selzer cycling hall. The Pustelnik family hall is located about 500 meters towards the Aussiedlerhöfe from the cycling hall, on the right side. Selzen Kite Flying Day is family fun for all ages – an ideal destination for a Sunday outing with the whole family. As always, children are the focus of this event. Besides the main fun of flying kites, there are other attractions for kids, such as a bouncy castle and a glitter tattoo artist. For "kite tamers" and those who want to become one, kites are available for purchase on site. The raffle sale supporting KIKAM e.V., which uses the proceeds to assist the pediatric cardiology intensive care unit at the University of Mainz, will also take place again.

This festival is open not only to children but to all generations. The spacious area around the hall offers the best opportunity to fly your kite without disturbance. For over 25 years, Liste Selzen has organized this family fun event for young and old, which continues to be very popular.

Food and drinks will be well provided throughout the day. Available are drinks such as Selzer wines, Federweißer, juices, and soft drinks. For food, there will be fries, sausages, steaks from the grill, seasonal Rheinhessen soup, hot waffles, homemade cake, and coffee. With these Rheinhessen specialties, you can recover from the "strenuous activity" of kite flying or simply enjoy watching the colorful action in the sky. Kite fans who bring their own homemade kite and successfully fly it will receive a food voucher as a reward. Visitors who don’t want to fly a kite can still enjoy the fun while having a hearty lunch and pleasant conversations for a lovely afternoon. Liste Selzen looks forward to welcoming you and having a great Sunday with you and your family!
