Water. Warmth. World Heritage.

Description
Our city tour Water.Warmth.World Heritage. takes you on a journey through the bathing culture from ancient times to the 20th century. Along the Decumanus, the city tour looks for traces of water in the city. You will also pass, off the beaten path, a selection of downtown landmarks. Among them are the Kaiserthermen, the Babarathermen, and the Roman bridge – three buildings that are part of the city's UNESCO World Heritage.
You will pass through several stations exploring Trier’s bathing history from the Romans to today. Starting with an interior visit to the Kaiserthermen, offering insights into Roman bathing culture, the tour continues from the Tufa towards Neustraße. Then, following the route of the former main Roman water pipeline, the tour heads through the Alleengürtel, also known as the city’s green lung, to the synagogue. At the next stop, the Babarathermen, admire the hypocausts and get a glimpse of how the large baths were heated in ancient times. The final part of the tour takes you to the Mosel and the Roman bridge. After all, when exploring Trier’s water world, Germany’s oldest bridge must not be missed, before the tour ends at the cranes and with the topic "Bathing in the Mosel."
