Description
Alter Flugplatz in Frankfurt's green belt was an American military airfield used until 1992. It covers about 4.5 hectares and is located in the districts of Frankfurt-Bonames and Frankfurt-Kalbach-Riedberg. After it closed, the "Grüngürtel" project group and the GTL Landscape Architects office transformed it into a nature and recreation area in 2003/04, earning the German Landscape Architecture Award in 2005 for their work.
