SAURIANS - GIANTS OF THE SEAS

In the new spectacular experience exhibition, you'll encounter gigantic marine reptiles from the oceans of long ago. Measuring up to 10.5 meters in length, the fascinating dinosaur models impressively show who ruled the seas during the Mesozoic Era.

But it's not just the sea giants that provide insight into the ancient ocean. Through fossils and various media stations, you'll discover interesting and exciting facts about this fascinating chapter of Earth's history.

A special highlight is the "Paleo Aquarium," where 3D-animated marine reptiles swim right past you on a 10-meter wide screen!

PREHISTORIC SEA MUSEUM

Learn intriguing details about the origin of life in the Prehistoric Sea Museum. Here you embark on a time travel through all of Earth's geological periods. Using over 500 original fossils, you’ll see how evolution over the past 4.6 billion years created various animal and plant species, especially in aquatic environments.

Trilobites, armored fish, coelacanths, ichthyosaurs, ancient sharks, and many other fossil witnesses of past life hint at the evolutionary developments that took place in the primordial sea.

Arriving in the Quaternary, or modern times, you can observe the result of evolution: life on land and in the sea.

AQUARIUM

Experience the wondrous worlds of the seas and discover shimmering schools of fish and colorful corals. Be fascinated by the underwater world with seals, rays, sharks, penguins, and many other sea creatures. But above the water’s surface, breathtaking animals await you too, including quick tree monitors, camouflaged insects, and a 3-meter-long snake. In the tropical hall, pygmy marmosets scamper from branch to branch and birds fly freely. NEW: Sloths are now part of the tropical hall!
