Description

The Archäologisches Museum Oldendorf/Luhe showcases a burial site about 5,700 years old from the Neolithic era. Visitors can discover original artifacts that bring to life the daily life and beliefs of the first farmers around 3700 BC.

The exhibition places special emphasis on the migration of the first farmers and the construction of their monumental tombs. It becomes clear how the belief in an afterlife played an important role in the creation of these megalithic burial sites.

Across about 100 square meters in a main room and two side rooms, visitors dive deep into the culture of the Neolithic period. The experience is enhanced by a film screening upstairs that vividly presents the burial site today as well as life in prehistoric times 🎥.

The upper floor also features changing exhibitions and spaces for lectures and readings – creating a vibrant connection between history and contemporary cultural events.
