The Auenland-IZ OAKB combines technology history with a nature experience and leads you along the footsteps of the former bog transport through the historic bog area. Where therapeutic peat was once harvested for the spa and transported by the field railway, today a lovingly preserved museum railway invites you to a leisurely ride through the landscape of Holstein’s Auenland. During the ride, you’ll learn fascinating facts about the history of peat harvesting, the importance of the therapeutic bog for Bad Bramstedt, and the bog’s animal and plant life. On selected ride days, guided tours and events complement the experience, providing further insights into the history and nature of this special landscape. Since 2026, the former Oskar-Alexander-Kurbahn has carried the name Auenland-IZ OAKB. The renaming highlights the close connection to the Auenland-Informationszentrum and the Holsteiner Auenland adventure region. The historic railway, its route, and the special riding experience remain preserved and continue to invite you on a little journey back in time through Bad Bramstedt’s history.
