Description

The Barockhaus showcases fascinating exhibitions in the Graphisches Kabinett featuring works by artists like Hans-Peter Menge, presenting six decades of drawn and printed art.

Special highlights include historic and romantic art collections, such as the exhibition DREAMTIME. Drawing Art of Romanticism, where you can admire over 140 finely crafted drawings by more than 50 artists like Carl Spitzweg.

The focus also turns to nature: sketches of people and animals around 1800 offer insights into the early works of romantic landscape art.

Historically significant exhibitions, like the treasury exhibition displaying the entire spiritual teachings of the artist Joseph Anton Schneiderfranken (Bô Yin Râ), who was closely connected to Görlitz, make the Barockhaus a unique place full of culture and history.

In the baroque setting with its historic library hall, special events also take place, such as dance performances by the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater Group – a combination of art, history, and live culture waiting for you to explore.
