At the Reichenbacher Turm, the Görlitzer Sammlungen für Geschichte und Kultur invite you to fascinating insights into the art of drawing from times past. The exhibition “TRAUMZEIT. Drawing Art of Romanticism” features over 140 drawings by more than 50 artists. You can explore every tiny detail with magnifying glasses and dive into romantic worlds full of landscapes, myths, and legends 🌿.
The Graphic Cabinet presents around 40 drawings and prints by Hans-Peter Menge, covering seven decades of his artistic work from figurative to abstract motifs. His works are part of one of the most significant graphic collections in eastern Germany – a treasure preserved for future generations.
Additionally, the exhibition “KLENGEL & KLASS. Drawing Art around 1800” offers vivid sketches of people and animals from early Romanticism, with Dresden as the artistic center. The collections also display valuable medieval art treasures that have been admired at major exhibitions.
A special highlight is the treasure chamber exhibition “Bô Yin Râ – the Spiritual Teachings” featuring the spiritual teachings of Joseph Anton Schneiderfranken, closely connected to the city of Görlitz. Here, cultural history blends with mysterious spirituality.
