Bayerisches Bienenmuseum Illertissen, Sammlung Forster

The Bayerisches Bienenmuseum Illertissen takes you on an exciting journey into the fascinating world of bees. It features impressive exhibits such as 50-million-year-old amber bees, historic beekeeping tools, and graphics documenting six centuries of bee science.

From Easter to October, you can watch a live queen bee with her court in a glass display case – a unique glimpse into the life of bees.

The museum offers exciting tours and workshops for children and adults, including overview and specialized tours as well as creative wax workshops with candle making. A special highlight is the 15-minute 3D bee film with stunning macro footage.

Tailored programs are available for school classes, preschools, groups, and families, and visits outside regular hours are possible to enjoy the museum in peace.

After your museum visit, a walk along the Illertisser Bienenweg is worthwhile – a lovely circular trail with several places to stop and a large playground, perfect for the whole family.
