Description

Birkenkopf is a 509.4 m (1,671 ft) high hill within the city limits of Stuttgart. It is the highest point in the inner city area, rising nearly 300 meters above the Neckar River level. It is located south of the Stuttgart-Botnang district and still belongs to the Stuttgart-West district. At the eastern base of the hill lies the Birkenkopf fault, a natural monument. From the summit, the view stretches across the entire inner city – except for Stuttgart-South, which is hidden by Karlshöhe – and on clear days reaches the Swabian Jura, the Northern Black Forest, and the Unterland region.
