Description

Bornheimer Hang is a slope and park area located at the border of the Frankfurt districts Bornheim and Seckbach, as well as in the Ostend. Geologically, the embankment, which lies between 20 and 30 meters above the lower terrain level, was formed as the outer bank of a now-abandoned northern loop of the Main River. The roughly 1,500-meter-long Bornheimer Hang reaches its highest point north of Kohlbrandstraße, just before the A 661 highway cuts through on the way to Seckbach. The slope continues southwest along the edge of Ostpark and along Röderbergweg, gradually leveling out to the normal ground level at Danziger Platz. For several decades, Bornheimer Hang was the annual venue for the Frankfurt Rad-Cross event.
