bremer shakespeare company offers you lively theater for the whole family: interactive, playful productions without a fourth wall, non-naturalistic aesthetics, cross-gender casting, and a small ensemble whose actors often take on multiple roles 🎭

The audience is explicitly welcome – actors personally greet you in the foyer, sell programs, and see you off after the performance. Particularly popular are the regular public rehearsals before premieres – a real behind-the-scenes look.

Since 1995 the ensemble has organized the annual open-air festival Shakespeare im Park in the Bürgerpark; in addition there are about 50 guest performances each season across the German-speaking region, which appeals to families outside Bremen. Some plays run in English, and the repertoire includes many Shakespeare titles as well as modern plays and German premieres – so there is something for different tastes 📚
