Ehemaliges Flussbad Altchemnitz

Description
The public green area at the former river bath is an intervention site of the "City on the River" project, part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025. Right on the Chemnitz River, a versatile leisure and relaxation space has been created, combining nature experiences, exercise, and social encounters. At the heart of the site is a roughly 61-meter-long steel pedestrian bridge connecting Altchemnitz and Markersdorf. On both sides of the river, various seating areas, new pathways, and places to rest invite you to linger. Design and informational elements further enhance the offer. With the planting of 42 trees and 415 shrubs, the former river bath grounds have also been ecologically upgraded and redesigned as an attractive public green space.
