Erlebniswald Siegener Tiergarten

Description
The information boards and signs provide insights about the types, growth, and distribution of the trees as well as the importance of the forest for all of us. A special section highlights the topic of new types of forest damage.
In the Tiergarten, there is also an "Adventure Forest." This project increases the variety of uses and experiences with up to 15 stations, new picnic areas, and improved signage. A roughly 2.3-kilometer circular trail starts from the "Tiergarten" hiking parking lot at the end of the Güterweg in the Weidenau district. The hike takes about 1.5 to 2 hours.
Directly adjacent to the educational trail is the fallow deer viewing enclosure with an average population of 25 animals. Here you can also see the impressive fallow deer buck "Peter." However, it is also possible to walk along the over 65,000 square meter enclosure without seeing any animals. Thanks to the hilly terrain and vegetation, the animals have plenty of cover and protection from harsh weather conditions.
In addition, throughout the city forest there are several designated hiking parking lots with numerous marked circular trails of varying lengths (from 1.5 to 6.0 kilometers). Numerous resting benches invite you to pause, especially at many open viewpoints with views over the urban area or the adjoining wooded hills surrounding Siegen.
