Description

Fahrzeugmuseum Suhl captivates with over 250 diverse vehicles – from children's cars, race cars, and tricycles to steam-powered machines. Here, families can embark on an exciting journey through the fascinating history of transportation.

Highlight treasures include the coveted Simson Supra A, once owned by Manfred Krug, as well as legendary motorcycles like the AWO 425 from Suhl. Fans will also love the iconic Simson mopeds such as the Schwalbe, Spatz, and Star.

You can also discover the outstanding achievements of Simson riders in the Enduro sport at the Six Days events of 1964 and 1987, and admire the original BMW race vehicle of Paul Greifzu. The stylish GDR racing car Melkus RS 1000 also captivates car enthusiasts of all ages.

A special highlight for families is the story of Germany’s first pedal bike, built in 1845 by Heinrich Mylius in Themar, Thuringia. The special exhibition Polytechnic clearly demonstrates the mechanical basics of cylinders, pistons, and gears – perfect for older kids who are fascinated by technology.

  • Rare historical and modern vehicles provide plenty of variety.

  • Unrealized Simson developments invite wonder and discovery.

  • A virtual 360° tour allows you to explore the collection interactively and comfortably from home.
