Description

The Feuerwehrmuseum Wernigerode takes you on a journey through more than 100 years of firefighting history. With historic firefighting equipment, old emergency vehicles, and antique horse-drawn fire pumps, there is plenty of exciting things to discover – perfect for the whole family.

Children and adults can explore numerous small historic firefighting objects, documents, and books in the cozy reading nook area. The museum itself is housed in a listed building that was originally built between 1751 and 1786 as a fire station and features a 16-meter-high hose tower from 1945.

The family events held here regularly are especially great: for example, Family Day with technical exhibitions, bouncy castles, rides, as well as food and drinks – fun for young and old! Additionally, the annual Festival of Lights with a lantern parade through the historic old town attracts many visitors.
