Hafenpark

In this park right on the Main River, you can relax, picnic, watch daring skateboard tricks – or get active yourself, depending on your mood.

At the feet of the European Central Bank, Frankfurt has gifted itself Hafenpark, a 40,000 square meter public park of the 21st century. Here, right on the riverbank, you can easily take a break from the city hustle – just doze in the sun on one of the wide wooden loungers or have a picnic on one of the lawns. The signs in the grass explicitly say "If you're already here, why not sit down" instead of "Keep off the grass." At the same time, Hafenpark is also Frankfurt's sports hotspot. In the largest skatepark in the country, the "Concrete Jungle," amateurs and pros practice their aerial jumps; there is now even a second area for kids. Between April and October, Tuesday Night Skating starts here every Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. Anyone can join the ever-changing tour through nocturnal Frankfurt. Overall, Hafenpark explicitly invites you to get active yourself: on a skateboard or inline skates, on one of the courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, or soccer, on the climbing course, on the playgrounds, or at one of the fitness stations.
