Description
At the Heimatmuseum im Tuchmacherhaus, you can immerse yourself in the living and craft culture of the 19th and early 20th centuries and experience it firsthand.
Especially impressive are the 36 original oil paintings from the collection of Dr. Wilhelm Bauberger, a physician and writer, professionally restored and available to the public 🎨.
A highlight is the Christoph von Schmid Room, furnished with original pieces that recreate the atmosphere of the Biedermeier and Baroque periods. Here you can also discover collected works and some original letters of this youth book author and cathedral priest.
The museum also offers an exhibition space with constantly changing exhibits covering topics such as city history, clubs, school history, church and religious history, notable personalities and artists, crafts and industry, 20th-century objects, as well as the art of tapestry weaving, all presented including a slideshow.
