Description

Hugo-Bürkner-Park is a small city park in Dresden-Strehlen. It is crossed by the Kaitzbach stream and, with a volume of around 20,000 m³, serves as its most important retention basin as part of Dresden's flood protection system. The park, as well as the Hugo-Bürkner-Straße approaching from the northeast, are named after Professor Hugo Bürkner (1818–1897), who taught woodcutting at the Dresden Academy of Art. A skatepark on the opposite side of the park is sometimes also called Hugo-Bürkner-Platz.
