The Imperial Crypt (Kapuzinergruft) is the significant burial site of the Habsburgs – here around 150 people found their final resting place. 🕯️
The Imperial Crypt under the Capuchin Church has been expanded several times. The greatest artists of their time designed the ornate crypts, and the coffins display a variety of symbols of imperial power. A curious fact: the hearts of the Habsburgs were buried from 1654 to 1878 in the Heart Crypt of the Augustinian Church. ⚜️
Special for families: there are newly introduced children's tours (recommended for ages 7–13). Family tours last about 60 minutes and are accompanied by historical figures – a lively introduction even for younger visitors. 🎭
